Creating your The Catalog Styler site is the easy part: the hard part is making sure your customers can find it. Here are some tips that can help.

Search Engine Submission

We'll submit your site to the top five or so engines. However, there are plenty of engines and directories out there, so consider listing your site with lesser-known engines that might attract your target audience.

The engines we submit to change from time to time; contact us if you need a current list.

META Tags

Your site includes keyword and description META tags to help the search engines rank your site. You can create and manage these tags on the Keyword/Descriptions page.

Give careful thought as to what you put into your tags. Many search engines will ignore META tags since they have been abused in the past. The search engines that do this will actually use the text content of a page to determine search results. Therefore, you should try to use as many of the words from your Keywords list in your Company Description as possible.

There are some limitations. Different search engines have different policies. Some will only search by the first 15 words in a META tag. Others will ignore them completely. Some search engines will take several weeks before you are added to their search engine depending on how busy they are.

Keywords

In addition to using the keyword META tag, you should use your keywords in the body of your pages as much as possible. You can access and change your page content by viewing your Preview site, and clicking on the Edit and New Text Block links..

Off-Internet Promotion

Don't forget that many people learn about your site by word of mouth, or by seeing your address in your marketing materials (brochures, catalogs, etc.).
